The members of the Lisa Rene Band have been playing together for many years. The band consists of 4 members: Lisa on lead and back-up vocals, Gregg Albahari on guitar and lead and back-up vocals, Ricky Showalter (original bass player for Chicago favorite Liquid Soul) on bass and lead and back-up vocals ,and Dewey Kasko on drums. Three of the four members played together in the Chicago-land cover band, Counterpart, for many years. After the Counterpart project, Lisa took time to write and record a solo album. Her debut album is entitled "The Eyes Have It" with original music influenced by other female singer-songwriters such as Melissa Ehteridge, Sheryl Crow and Pat Benatar.
Although the band enjoys performing the original material, and plays original-only performances several times per year (as well as a few originals at each club or festival appearance where appropriate), the band primarily is in high demand for their work as a cover band. They have a very full calendar and have become very popular in the private, wedding and corporate arena playing private events at venues such as the House of Blues, Navy Pier, The Museum of Science and Industry and for many corporate clients. With their wide variety of music, they have something that appeals to everyone and their show can be tailored to a client's particular tastes or needs. The band supplements their private work with club and festival dates and have enjoyed playing such venues as Castaways on North Avenue Beach, Navy Pier, U.S. Cellular Field, just to name a few, and such festivals as The Taste of Chicago, the Wells Street Art Festival, Old St. Pat's World's Largetst Block Party and many area and suburban clubs and fests. The Lisa Rene Band has appeared on WGN TVs Morning News Battle of the Bands where Richard Milne from 93FM-WXRT stated “Good pop sensibilities. (Lisa’s) show is designed to make people have a good time. If I was going out to a club, they’re a band I’d like to see”….Richard Milne.
In addition to being talented, these friendly, easy-to-work-with musicians are professional, polished and classy without being stuffy. With their years of experience and extensive repertoire, coupled with precise attention to detail and your input, the band is excellent at tailoring each show to the client’s tastes or style needs, or the event’s or venue's feel, theme or tone. The band works primarily in the Chicago area and suburbs, but also travels throughout the Midwest when needed.
