| The S-Control first found its way in Chicago in 2002. Maintaining the tradition of the "power trio," the band prides themselves on their full and heavy sound and the strength of their live show. Combining the musical elements of Funk, R&B, and Hard Rock, they produce a heavy sound with a nearly tangible groove. Drummer Slodo describes the sound as "the alchemy of funk." Drawing on influences such as Tool, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Jeff Buckley, and Jeff Beck, the band's original material maintains a progressive feel while always keeping a solid grasp on pop sensibility.
