| Conductor of the Lakeside Singers, Robert Bowker has been one of the busiest freelance studio vocalists in the Chicago area for over twenty-five years, as well as conductor, composer, arranger and producer. In the classical world, he has appeared as a soloist with the Chicago Symphony, the Grant Park Symphony, and the Rockefeller Chapel choir at the University of Chicago. He has been a member of the Robert Shaw Festival and has performed as chorister in 13 Carnegie Hall Choral workshops under the late Mr. Shaw. He is co-author of Learning to Sing Nonclassical Music, published by Prentice Hall. His compositions also reflect his eclectic tastes, ranging from classical solo and choral compositions to pop songs and vocal jazz arrangements. Along with thousands of television and radio commercials, pop and jazz recordings, film scores and industrials, he has performed or recorded with such pop stars as Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, R. Kelly, Richard Marx, Carole King, Gladys Knight and Peter Cetera.
