| Northwestern University associate professor is well-known for his research and publications in music cognition, artificial intelligence applications in music, 20th-century music, and pedagogy. Ashley has been a Fulbright scholar in music cognition and computer music at the Rijksuniversiteit Utrecht, Netherlands. He has composed for both electronic and traditional media, and teaches in NU's music technology program.
