| In May of 2005, Chicago 5-piece, Quiet Kid, signed with upstart Chicago label, NeedleDrop Records. Chicago entrepeneur (via Switzerland) and pop music fan, Arig Renard, heard their song, 'Where's The Fashion?' on WXRT's Local Anesthetic. Their debut album, "Somewhere", was completed in Late 2004, and was engineered and produced by Mike Hagler (Wilco, Neko Case, The Mekons) at Kingsize Sound Labs in Chicago. To date, cuts from Somewhere like "Dollface" and "Where's The Fashion?" have already made it to airplay on WXRT, WLUW and WZZN in Chicago. The band have headlined at clubs like (the legendary and now defunct) Lounge Ax, Schubas, The Hideout, and The Empty Bottle, where they played with bands like Monkey Paw, Tokyo Expando, Ether Net and Spoon, respectively. Quiet Kid have been compared to The Wedding Present, Seam, Eleventh Dream Day, Foolish-era Superchunk, Pavement and Guided By Voices.
