| Lord of the Yum-Yum, aka Paul Velat, combines a guttural scat vocal style, classical/jazz themes, throat singing, improvisation, and electronics. Typically dressed in a baby blue tuxedo with ruffle shirt, LoYY cuts up familiar 'classical' music with a live loop-making devise. We were lucky enough to catch up with LoYY at his show during Versionfest 2003 (www.versionfest.org). The use of loops was very creative and often times amusing, it was a wild and wooly ride that kept everyone in the audience totally engaged. Easily my favorite of all the avant-garde entertainment that was a part of the 2003 festival. Former/Current Bands: Herc., Fleck/Velat, Eric Kmiec Quartet, Six of One Half Summers, Paul Vee and Latchkey Kids, Herbal Flesh Tea For more information, visit their website: http://lordoftheyumyum.com
