| Alabama native arrived in the Windy City in 1943, and performed on the blues circuit (playing drums and singing) for several decades. She recorded a single with Checker, and a couple of duets with Jimmy Reed, to whom she and son Jimi "Prime Time" Smith (with Roy Hytower, Eddie Taylor Jr. & Vera Taylor) present a tribute at the 1999 Chicago Blues Festival.
