| Best known as the cohort to resonator fingerpicker, Eric Noden, Joe slings tunes from a harp, largely confiding in a diatonic scale, i.e. notes in line with a particular chromatic scale; think old steam-engine train effects. Otherwise, the artist is a teacher at the Old Town School of Folk Music for all degrees of harmonic styles, and a counterpart to at least four other world-renowned musicians: Dr. Evans, Richard Sleigh, Stuart Norton and Georg Schroeter. You can also hear him in most of the Carl Davis Band's sets, which Joe has been part of for many years.
The multi-tasker builds and sells his own harmonicas from scratch, writes entries in Routledge blues encyclopedias and holds seminars and workshops all over the world. (Gavin Paul) For more information, visit their website: http://www.filisko.com
