Major pianist from the Chicago area (born in Waukegan), Jim Vukovich has taken on his most important role. He has dedicated the next several years of his life caring for his mother who is sick while he finishes his PhD at Midwestern University. He's had a stellar career working in TV, film, theatre and the music business. "It's time to take care of things and people who really matter, my family and MYSELF"!
Besides still jetting between LA and NYC for work, he still travels to conduct some of the worlds most notable symphonies. He was recently seen playing piano on the new Bravo TV series "Step It Up And Dance" where he also provided some fantastic new original dance arrangements for choreographer Lee Martino's winning dance combinations.
In the Broadway/musical theatre world, Jim recently wrapped up the job as musical director/conductor for the broadway musical "The Wedding Singer". He also recently music directed the US tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Whistle Down The Wind" and prior to that he music directed the 1st national touring company of the Broadway smash hit musical, Hairspray. That tour lasted almost 3 years and performed an amazing 1100 + shows!
His many years in pop/rock music are well documented, from his years as a recording artist for Atlantic Records to his years as musical director/pianist for music legends Dionne Warwick, Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis, Jr., Freda Payne, Betty Buckley, Rita Coolidge, David Foster and so many more.
