| This local rapper--previously known as Common Sense before a copyright dispute with a California reggae-rock band forced him to shorten it--was one of the first Chicagoans to achieve market success, and remains one of the only hip-hop artists working outside the well-trodden grangsta territory. He's been critically acclaimed since the beginning of his career, but recently has claimed more commercial success with chart-topping albums like Be and Finding Forever. His earlier albums, Resurrection and the 1992 Can I Borrow A Dollar? both preceded the current interest in the Chicago rap scene.
He's also a burgeoning actor, having starred in blockbusters like American Gangster and Smokin' Aces. For more information, visit their website: http://www.common-music.com
