| Oklahoma native saxophonist/bassonist joined the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 1965, and has been the Orchestra's featured saxophone soloist on every recording since then. Burl is the founder of the Gold Coast Chamber Ensemble and the Symphony Chamber Musicians of Chicago, and is a member of the western/swing jazz group The CSOkies. Burl studied at Juilliard and Coumbia and was the American Symphony Orchestra's co-principal bassoon under Leopold Stokowski before joining the CSO.
