Bryan Scary and The Shredding Tears

Bryan Scary and his band, The Shredding Tears, bring you psychedelic indie-pop from another dimension. Abounding with hooks, stories, dynamic arrangements, and strangely infectious lyrics, the band has rightfully earned comparison to late-period Beatles, Queen, XTC, and The Kinks.

Bryan Scary's debut album shares the pseudonym of his bandmates, The Shredding Tears. The 15 track concept album shifts genres with encyclopedic aplomb, veering from 60’s psychedelia to glam rock to chamber pop to prog rock to musical theatre, all smashed together into a uniquely *scary* vision of pop music’s potential. Bryan Scary played all the instruments on the record; the drums were that of Jeremy Black from Apollo Sunshine. In addition, the mix was performed by Brian McTear at Miner Street Studio in Philadelphia, and mastered by Paul Hammond and Paul Sinclair.

The album's single, "The Ceiling on the Wall", and other notable tracks ("The Blood Club", "The Bottom of The Grave") are receiving consistent spins at radio. Key CMJ stations include KSYM (San Antonio, TX), KRSC (Tulsa, OK), and WUTK (Knoxville, TN). Bryan Scary is also ranking highly at XM radio. Moreover, San Francisco’s esteemed commercial station Radio Alice, KLLC hailed Bryan Scary and The Shredding Tears as “Genii, the plural of Genius!” Also, Rolling Stone recently nominated the band for their "Best Bands on My Space" contest.

In the new year, globally recognized Redeye Distribution (e.g. The Mars Volta, The Apples In Stereo, Sloan) will internationally service the album to major retail and one-stops on February 20th. In addition, the group plan to support the Black and Greene Records’ release with a North East/Midwest mini-tour beginning in March. Be prepared to witness an intensified level of craft and energy that is already championed on recordings. Bryan Scary and The Shredding Tears are sure to be wildly engaging and theatrical for all.
