Rock/pop label -- one of the more visible small Chicago indies, was started by Scott Shell, now 30, in 1994. He worked as an intern at Alligator Records and later in the shipping department of Southern Records. To date, they've released more than a dozen titles... For more than a year, the label has held a series of showcases at Lounge Ax (bands include Agatha, Big Angry Fish, Jaws Of Life and The Velmas), and Shell has started a mail-order catalog of Beluga and other indie releases.
