The recipient of two Billboard Magazine Certificate of Achievement Awards for songwriting, Anne Burnell (formerly Anne Pringle) is a "singer of glorious gifts" (Chicago Tribune) who "can send shivers down your spine" (Lerner Publications). The Tribune's Rick Kogan says "Pringle moves comfortably through a repertoire of classic and contemporary arrangements, deftly and gracefully walking the jazz-light pop tightrope from which less talented singers would surely tumble..."
Burnell has been performing in Chicago-area clubs and festivals throughout the Midwest for a dozen years. She was the band leader and lead vocalist on the Spirit of Chicago 1992 season. She and pianist Mark Burnell have been performing together for 7 of those, playing together locally (Davenports, Gentry, Pops for Champagne, Biggs, House of Blues, Yvette's, Toulouse, and Plaza Tavern), and places farther away. They recently released their debut CD of duets -- Little Things We Do Together -- on Spectrum Records.
New York City's Cabaret Scenes Magazine calls them "an engaging duo" and After Dark says "they are simply hypnotic and fairly unequaled."
