| Formed in November 1994, this Chicago-based rock ensemble combines elements of blues, jazz, latin, punk and modern rock into catchy complex, modern progressive rock songs which go beyond boy meets girl. A bit hippy at times, but the guitars and tuneful melodies go a long way towards rescuing it. Members David Geist, Jim Siwek and Aras Ulenas met in 1990 at Notre Dame (where they formed a alternative dance cover band, the Generics). After returning to Chicago, singer Michelle Soucie joined the band (early 1995), Chris Kahl became the new drummer and Ulenas (who Studied a Berklee) switched to keyboards and rhythm guitar. The band released their self-produced 15-song debut CD My December in April 1996, and have opened for bands including Moe, Everything and the Cathy Richardson Band. See Centerstage's review of Add Nine's CD.
