Step inside this bar and a pushy doorman will demand, "Who are you here for?" If you don't have an answer, he'll throw you a grin, take your cover charge, and gesture toward a beer-drinking haven that those in need of a cold one dream about.
If you aren't one of the devout groupies of one of the bands playing that night, fear not. O'Malley's has cheap beer, loud music and an inviting crowd that makes anyone feel welcome. Local bands from a Led Zeppelin cover band (which frequents the place), to relatively unknown groups (whose sound you will no doubt remember-even after a few rounds of drinks) rock the house Tuesday through Saturday night.
This bar isn't for the faint of heart. Expect to struggle with conversation, as a kickin' bass line will often interrupt. The promise of live music will also pack the place, so things tend to get crowded. Fixate your gaze on the 20 plasma-screen TVs, come in on Tuesdays to shoot some free pool or lose yourself in a sea of food and drink specials. You can't argue with $10 for a large cheese pizza and a domestic pitcher on Friday and Saturdays.
Want to give this bar a taste of its own medicine? Tune up your pipes and stop in on Sunday nights to sing karaoke fueled by $1 drafts.
