In many ways, Fizz is like the Wal-Mart of bars (minus the tacky marketing and questionable labor practices): it's a one-stop destination for everything you need. With evenings crammed full of dancing, karaoke, live DJs and comedy shows, you could party at Fizz every night of the week, sipping (or slamming) the rotating lineup of drink specials. Toss in a beer garden, savory menu, private party loft and annual celebrations like Oktoberfest and Mardi Gras and you have nary an excuse to ever leave.

Despite its thematic offerings ranging from swing dancing to tiki nights, Fizz has a neat polish that's both comfortable and vaguely upscale. With exposed brick, large modern paintings, and moody amber and blue hanging lamps over a glimmering brass bar, Fizz is the spacious relaxed midpoint between a cafe and a pub.

Upstairs, Fizz houses a cavernous private party room. The equally expansive outdoor beer garden is a smoker's haven complete with fountain and heaters, though it's best enjoyed in the warmer months. The main bar is dotted with large and small seating arrangements, a few flat-panel TVs and a shimmering display of bottles for the extensive cocktail list. Wednesdays are the aforementioned tiki nights, where fresh fruit is muddled by the glassful for mojitos, coladas and margaritas. The rest of the week is divided between alternating beer and cocktail specials, with half off appetizer Tuesdays and a changing short list of seasonal specialty drinks.

While Fizz boasts a long list of mixed drinks, champagne cocktails and forty-plus beer selections, the food menu is a lively collection all its own. Prices range from roughly $8-$11 for bar food staples and trendily updated American favorites, including crispy pizzas, Black Angus burgers, boat-size salads and steak or tuna sandwiches. Appetizers have boarded the "mini-food" bandwagon with the likes of mini burgers, mini sub sandwiches and mini pulled-pork bites. If you're craving a starter that doesn't fit in the palm of your hand, Fizz still keeps around old standbys like chicken tenders, onion rings, fried calamari and an oozingly delicious artichoke dip.
