| 1896-1966 Dorothy Keely Aldis was born in Chicago in 1896, the daughter of a newspaper editor. Her stories and verses are regarded as exceptionally in touch with children's interests and personalities. She had four children of her own, and was a resident of Lake Forest when she died at age 70.
