What to expect: Fresh Turkish food, Ottoman-era marching bands (seriously, Mehter was established in 1299), world-famous Turkish coffee and traditional crafts in the Grand Ballroom at Navy Pier. This authentic event celebrates the culture of several countries, including Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Bosnia.
Why to go: The Whirling Dervishes of Rumi will put on demonstrations of the mystic religious ceremony known as Sema, which features them whirling about to the sounds of flutes and drums.
