Date: December 5-7, 2008
Cost: Free
Organizer: St. Matthias Catholic Church, the Lincoln Square Chamber of Commerce and 47th Ward Alderman Gene Schulter
What to expect: Traditional German food, German beer, glugg, horse drawn carriages, ice sculptures, strolling musicians, contemporary entertainment bands, trolley rides, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be some of the attractions at this event, which turns Lincoln Square into a small German village (similar to the one at Daley Plaza).
Why to go: Lincoln Square is the city's biggest German enclave, so it only makes sense to host a German market here.
Additional info: There will also be a "Kids Korner" featuring entertainment, arts and crafts and gingerbread cookie decorating.
