What to expect: Four days of special events at multiple locations around town. This first-year fest was co-organized by Bulgarian filmmaker Ilko Davidov and Josh Chicoine, frontman of local band The M's.
Why to go: Highlights include a March 5 appearance by acclaimed director Lech Kowalski, who screens his "Camera War" with live accompaniment by composer Mimetic at the St. Paul Cultural Center; a live performance from the Dex Romweber Duo (March 7 at the Double Door); a visit from Martin Atkins, who presents his directorial debut, "16 Days in China"; and an exhibition of legendary rock photographer Richard Bellia's work (March 6 at Th!nkArt Salon, 1530 N. Additional info: kicks off on Wednesday, March 4 with a party at the new St. Paul Cultural Center, 2215 W. North. As an added bonus, Wilco's concert film, "Ashes of American Flags," will debut at the Music Box on Monday, March 9 to cap the fest.
