Description of Chicago Gourmet 2010

Date: September 25-26, 2010

Cost: $90 per day, $175 for a weekend pass (includes admission to one seminar each day); Get tickets here. (prices will eventually increase to $150 per day, $250 for the weekend)

Organizer: Illinois Restaurant Association

What to expect: The epicurean extravaganza includes everything from food and wine tastings to cooking demos alongside internationally-renowned chefs.

Why to go: The chefs. Yes, it's expensive. But you'll be treated to fare from some of the finest toques from around the country. The full list:
