Editorial Review of Chicago Folk & Roots Festival

Date: July 11-12, 2009

Cost: $8 donation, $4 for seniors and kids

Organizer: Old Town School of Folk Music

What to expect: A wide-ranging music line-up, dance workshops, cooking demonstrations, staff jams and more in Lincoln Square's Welles Park.

Why to go: Sunday headliner Karsh Kale brings together tons of musical styles (traditional Indian music, hip-hop, classic rock, electronic) for a show that should be anything but boring.
