Date: August 7-9, 2009

Cost: $80 per day, $205 for a three-day pass

What to expect: Lollapalooza, Chicago's three-day monster music fest offers up 150 bands on several stages throughout Grant Park, plus a host of other distractions.

Why to go: Depends on what you're into, but there's something for pretty much everyone. This year's headliners include Tool, Depeche Mode, Jane's Addiction, The Killers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Lou Reed, Kings of Leon and Ben Harper.
