The Soul Summit DJs have established their monthly dance party as one of the premier funk & soul nights in Chicago. Last month’s three-year anniversary party (featuring Chairman Mao) broke an attendance record at Double Door, which is staggering to think especially when considering all the legendary acts that have passed through. For this month, Soul Summit will be hosting yet another funk purveyor, DJ Akalepse of Truth & Soul Records. Together they’ll be digging deep into their crates, pulling only the finest dance-friendly gems for fans to enjoy. Early arrival is recommended, and as per usual, there will be a line of Soul Summit posters and shirts available for purchase. (J. Min)
