Nick Waterhouse is a leading voice in the contemporary soul scene. His sound is steeped in nostalgia yet it manages to avoid redundancy with a vibrant level of songwriting and a seemingly endless supply of energy. He’s doing what Mayer Hawthorne is trying to do, but with greater success. His set at Metro will be a throwback in every sense of the word with groove-laden rhythms being the top priority.
