As one of the most influential rap groups of all time, Pharcyde’s appeal seems to grow with every passing year. Maybe it’s because they set the standard for off-kilter, shameless, self-deprecating rap or maybe it’s their relationship with Dilla who helped propel their sound to new sonic heights. It’s likely all of the above. For this show half of the members (Fatlip & Slimkid3) will perform Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde, a throwback performance celebrating its twenty-year anniversary. With only half the members in tow, it obviously won’t have the same visceral impact, but Fatlip alone will be worth the price of admission. L.A. Jay and J. Sw!ft will also be in attendance. (J. Min)
