At one point in time Method Man was the hottest lyricist around. His style and delivery was considered indefinably unique, and he was a figurehead for a faction of rap that was slowly taking over hip-hop. He emerged from the Wu family like a man possessed, and proceeded to stamp his name on everything that came his way, which depending on how you look at it, might not have been a good thing. At some point it was just too much Meth, and he ended up spreading himself thin. Years later, and with a bit of living under his belt, he’s reemerged with determined focus, ready to build upon a legacy that started nearly twenty years ago. Still intact are the lyrical cadences and ridiculous punch lines, ones that make a legitimate comeback a hopeful reality. (J. Min)
