At this point in their careers Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth are considered living legends. They probably didn’t know it at the time, but Mecca and The Soul Brother and The Main Ingredient would go on to be the blueprint for countless hip-hop acts worldwide. Both are historians of the culture, as they lived and breathed it, and to see them still together, after all these years, is an absolute treat. Their performance at the Shrine will be a throwback classic. (J. Min)
