People Under the Stairs have captured a spirit that lands somewhere between the annals of nostalgia, and the progressive force of the DIY culture. They’ve released eight studio albums, and their last one Highlighter exemplifies just how much work they put in—still on top of their game after a decade. Sure they’re known for their debaucherous, backyard BBQ anthems, but their style extends so much further than that. They are the embodiment of hip-hop. Their set at Sub-T will be a part of their annual Midwest tour, and early arrival is highly recommended. (J. Min)
