Amanda Palmer isn’t the type to conform. You can’t hold her to a style, and try and package her, and if you do she’ll be out, and long gone before you know what happened. Her newest album Theatre is Evil is a continuation of that ethos, with it’s wickedly raucous attitude and no nonsense style of play. But looking past that wall, that intimidating soundscape, is filled with deep lyrical connections—ones that have extended intimately to her fanbase. She’s a great writer, and leaves everything on the stage. Her performance at the Metro will be in celebration of the album, and early arrival is recommended. (J. Min)
