With the release of his 1995 debut, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Raekwon became an icon amongst icons. The album was one in a strong series of Wu solo projects that essentially flipped hip-hop inside-out with blunted street philosophies, obscure martial arts references and bugged-out narratives. Unfortunately, Rae followed up his success with a handful of mediocre projects, leaving many fans to speculate whether or not he could rebound. Fourteen years and many delays later Rae has answered his naysayers with the long-awaited Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II, which was a bit more polished than diehard fans would have liked but nonetheless a great way to close out that chapter of his legacy. For his performance at the Wild Hare, Chef will be celebrating "420," a major contributor to his creative process. General admission is $25, but you might consider shelling out $65 for the VIP treatment, which includes a free exclusive 4/20 Raekwon/Purple Haze T-Shirt as well as a backstage pass which offers the chance to enjoy chicken wings in a "relaxed" atmosphere.
