The picnic parade's in full swing over on the Ravinia lawn, with 73-years-young Buddy Guy ditching his famed purple suit and the glass of cognac he so adores at his club for a leisure get-up. We're not saying he's lost his electric grip, but judging from his latest subdued set, Skin Deep, and the amount of bench time during his annual headlining shows in January, crowds shouldn't expect much walk-amongst-the-crowd treatment at this show. Then again, Buddy loves a good special guest appearance, and he just may pop into JJ Grey & Mofro's set to amp up their Jacksonville, FL funk-swamp treatment, especially given the group's ties to Alligator Records.
