No one's going to confuse The Damnwells with Radiohead, but the two groups do have one thing in common: they both released their latest albums as free downloads. This kind of creative marketing that has kept the Brooklyn indie band in the spotlight, even as its original lineup has all but disbanded (guitarist and lead singer Alex Dezen is a constant), but don't think the music is an afterthought. If you like Wilco, The Jayhawks or other acoustically minded rock bands, you'll be at home at this show.
