If you've been keeping up with us you're probably aware of how much we appreciate the folks over at the local independent label, Numero Group. In addition to having a stellar catalogue of obscure funk, soul and psychedelic rock, Numero has worked hard to bring the soulful artists we hear on wax to the stage with its Eccentric Soul Revue series. For this one (the second installment), the label hosts legends The Notations, Renaldo Domino, Pastor TL Bartlett, Sharon Clark, Linda Balintine and Syl Johnson, all of whom have been featured in prior and forthcoming Numero releases. Also on the bill will be contemporary funk band JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound, who will soon be embarking on tour, so catch 'em now. (J. Min)
