Until the band found a broader fan base by going on tour with My Morning Jacket, Dr. Dog was often mistaken for a hip-hop act. It is in fact a rock band with a decidedly vintage sound that has earned comparisons to the Beatles, The Band and The Beach Boys. Seattle-based indie folk act The Cave Singers and self-described "crumbly western" group Golden Boots add a little country twang to an evening at the Double Door. (Amanda Nyren)
