Nickel Creek is on indefinite hiatus, so someone's gotta pick up the slack for the progressive acoustic-lovin' Ravinia folk (we know you're out there). Enter the group's mandolinist/vocalist, Chris Thile, whose other outfit, Punch Brothers, focuses even more on bluegrass, with a "modern classical" bent. The group's most recent effort, Punch, dropped in February, and features a four movement, 40-minute suite called "The Blind Leading the Blind."
