From the line of too-cool-for-school guys outside to the dancing girls in booty shorts and sparkly bras inside, Vain seems like most other Chicago nightclubs. But there is one major difference: this 7,000-square-foot space (the former home of Big House) holds not one, not two, but
three floors of fun.
The first level serves as a lounge, while the second caters to those who want to be one with the dance floor. The third is reserved for the elite VIPs, who can check out the action on the dance floor below. Each has lights and loud music coming from a state-of-the-art sound system, though Vain attempts to inject a bit of relaxation into the mix with candlelit decor and comfortable seating skirting the walls. Those feeling a little sweaty and claustrophobic in the narrow space can cool down by the waterfall.
The two bars here always seem to be packed, but bottle service is available for those who don't mind shelling out a pretty penny. Drinks are nothing special, but that doesn't seem to make them any less attractive to the mostly college-age crowd. As always in this area, make sure you dress in your finest and carry enough cash with you to get you through the night.
