Yup, Wicker Park has finally made it to the big time…the posh, eye-candy-flaunting, beat-pumping dance club big time. Having taken over two floors in the legendary Red Dog location, Ohm's biggest draw is undeniably space, and tons of it. Its 11,000-square-foot layout includes five bars and a 3,000-square-foot dance floor.

The main room boasts drool-worthy lofted ceilings and exposed brick, accented with stained-glass windows and the rich oak and mahogany bars, and augmented with marble bathrooms. If you wander upstairs, you'll encounter The Bridge, a separate, more intimate space with its own DJ and a swankier drink menu that boasts champagne. The name "Ohm" refers to the measurement unit of electrical resistance, not the syllable you chant on your yoga mat…but that doesn't mean the state-of-the-art sound system won't boost you to an elevated state. Chicago-style house music is the club's main focus, so expect classic four-on-the-floor anthems mixed with the hottest new club tracks. The selection is curated by XM Radio veteran (and Chicago-born) "Just Joey" Swanson. Swanson, former music director of Red Dog, will be assisted by a lineup of impressive resident DJs. Expect big-time international guests like Andy Caldwell and Jon Cutler to hit the tables as well.

Every Wednesday, the club's host is a tantalizing character called Miss Candi Lane, who gets the crowd going with her witty banter and a team of vampy party girls. More importantly, a $10 cover will get you in that night for mid-week specials like $5 Absolut and $3 Bud; on other days, the prices range from $5 well cocktails (Finlandia and Beefeaters are their well choices) to $9-$12 martinis. All beers are bottled, with a decent selection from home and abroad. The cover can climb to $20 for weekends and special events.
