You know the way you feel when you stumble upon a really cool party in an amazing space? NV Penthouse Lounge has the potential to recreate this feeling every weekend. It's all a bit too fancy at first, with the escort to the elevator and the attendant who takes you up to the 8th floor of the building, but once inside the penthouse space, it's easy to relax.

NV is a smaller spot, and with the warm lighting and room accents, it feels like you've just discovered a secret, swank private party. The crowd is what you'd expect in River North, 20 and 30-somethings with money to burn, and the music is as eclectic as the decor. (On the night we visited, it was clubby house.)

One wall of the space features sculpted flowers in a deep gold hue, and black and white pony hair (which looks like a cow print) frames the bottle displays behind the long granite bar. There are also two seating areas, a larger one near the elevated DJ booth in the back of the club (which has reserved bathrooms for guests in private parties) and another near the terrace. That's right, I said terrace, at a club located on the 8th floor of a building in River North. The views are amazing, and will most likely fulfill your inner urban sophisticate fantasies (especially if you've been sipping on the champagne and martini selections). Smoking is also still allowed out there, which is nice...for some.
