Afraid of heights? Then you may want to avoid Vertigo, the sexy lounge perched atop the
Dana Hotel and Spa. But you'd be missing out: this sky-high watering hole offers strong cocktails, breathtaking views of the city, and waitresses in skintight catsuits. Combine that with the ultra-chic decor and a DJ spinning everything hip in rock, funk, pop and electronic, and you've got the perfect meeting place for young business professionals, (dare I say it) "cougars," and the hipster elite.
To go along with the swanky atmosphere, Vertigo serves up your favorite sashimi and maki, as well as other equally sexy small plates. Try the wagyu beef carpaccio or the cha ca la vang sandwich, made with fried catfish, chile, lime, and mint. Drinks range from $9 to $12 and include modern twists on old standbys like the sidecar and the old fashioned, as well as originals like the pink lady (Tanqueray gin, grenadine and a dash of cream over ice) and the zombie (Bacardi Silver and Gold rum, Flor de Cana dark rum, apricot brandy and pineapple juice topped off with Bacardi 151 over ice).
If you're not too distracted by the views of the Chicago skyline, you'll appreciate Vertigo's fashionable furnishings – from the series of artwork featuring people's tattoos to the rich leather seating to the giant chalkboard in the co-ed bathroom. The cocktail waitresses also provide some tasty eye candy.
