Trinity Bar is an Irish pub next to an Irish pub and kitty-corner to...you guessed it, an Irish pub. Enjoying the location once owned by Peg Leg Sullivan's, the Trinity in the name comes not from anything holy, but from the trio of bars that occupy the three floors.
Dark-stained wood paneling is everywhere, as are ads for Guinness and Harp, plus other Irish affects to remind you what kind of watering hole you're in. The auxiliary bars are closed most weekdays, keeping everyone on the main floor and giving the place a neighborhoodish quality that might otherwise be swallowed up by its size. Even on busy nights the basement can stay quiet, making it a good escape from the hustle of the surface.
What really sets Trinity apart is not its authenticity—the beer is way too cold for that—but its prices. The specials, which are both daily and permanent, are shocking when you consider the location. Guinness is $3 every day, and the daily deals are even better, with $2 drafts on Tuesdays and half-price everything on Wednesdays. The menu is standard pub fare, and the focus is clearly on the bar, but the food is fine if you're just looking for something to chew on while knocking back cheap drinks. Plus, the kitchen is open until close, so the food only gets more appetizing as the night progresses.
