The South Loop's Three Peas Art Lounge is exactly what it sounds like: a small gallery that serves up cocktails and coffee to patrons as they peruse art.
Founded to support up-and-coming visual artists and bring art collecting to the masses in a casual, comfortable way, Three Peas' small, cozy storefront cafe is lined with large paintings.
Pull up a seat at the bar or plunk down in one of the cozy gray armchairs and make use of the lounge's free wi-fi access. Order a cup of coffee - which they'll happily brew for you to ensure it's fresh - or a beverage from the full-service bar, which includes wine, dessert wines and tasty concoctions like a peach cobbler martini.
Three Peas doesn't dish out the usual cafe food, but it does keep cake and giant cupcakes – in flavors like lemon, caramel and double chocolate - on hand for hungry customers to chomp on. The lounge hosts art viewing events throughout the month, but if you just can't wait to add to your collection, you can shop for new art anytime you stop by - everything on the walls is for sale, and can also be purchased on Three Peas' Web site.
