As the anchor to Billy Dec's Rockit Ranch empire, Rockit Bar and Grill was just begging for a second location. The surprising thing is that it took this long for Dec and his partners, Arturo Gomez and Brad Young, to open one.
They couldn't have picked a sweeter spot guaranteed for success than spitting distance from the Friendly Confines. Rockit Bar and Grill's Wrigleyville location opened just in time for Cubs fans to say "Wait 'til next year," in the space formerly occupied by Tuscany.
Even though Rockit Wrigleyville is primed to capitalize on the neighborhood's main attraction, it has more going for it to be a destination spot once the Cubs are mathematically eliminated from playoff contention (you mean they aren't already?). Dec and company used the same playbook for Rockit "Prime" in River North to a tee: interiors by Nate Berkus, right down to the front bar’s signature moose paddle chandeliers; the menu by Executive chef James Gottwald is a near carbon-copy of the original Rockit.
The popular kobe beef burger is here, along with some flatbread pizzas the River North location doesn't carry. The two levels are also welcoming for colder weather.
Average cost: $10-$20
