Tired of the gay drama at Roscoe's? Ready to meet a different type of man? Eager to watch tons o' sports? Conveniently located on the northernmost edge of Boystown near the GayHOP (the notoriously gay IHOP), the boys at North End have other things on their minds besides drama—like sports, men and beer. Expect to find cute bartenders servin' up brews like Bass, Guinness and Miller Lite to equally hunky customers.
Unlike many of the pretentious-feeling bars on Halsted Avenue, North End offers a laid-back environment for relaxing post-work or pre-game. Most of the time, Chicago sports teams rule the televisions; if there's a Cubs, Bulls, Bears or White Sox game happening, everyone here's watching. But North Enders don't discriminate against our cheesehead neighbors up north—the crowd also tunes in to Green Bay Packers games. If watching sports non-stop gets a little old, play pool at one of the four tables, throw darts with your buddies or just keep drinking. If you're absolutely sick of sports and ready to get your diva on, stay late into the night when North End tends more toward the flamboyant side of things.
Even though this place looks a bit upscale from the outside, the vibe inside is similar to Bucks Saloon up the street—both are friendly, neighborhood bars where the dudes inside know your name.
