French restaurant serves a specialty menu of large gourmet sandwiches, paninis, soups, and salads, as well as a case of attractive deserts. This isn't your usual deli: The eclectic decor includes fancy white tableclothes and wine glasses on every table (the back wall of the restaurant serves as a wine rack), as well as French posters, and a large country mural, and hanging vegetables.
In the evening, the format isn't really deli at all, with a sophisticated dinner menu boasting French bistro fare. Expect traditional eats like steak frites, coq au vin, fish, moules and specials. Reservations for dinner are recommended on Friday and Saturday. In addition to the sit-down traffic, Mirani's is also active in the catering and take-out (especially during Ravinia season) businesses.
