Three words: Jimmy Buffett night. An oft-cited pearl of Buffett wisdom promotes Merkle's Bar and Grill's Thursday Night of the Buffet special: Say, why don't we become so inebriated that the inevitable outcome of the evening is naughty, naughty pre-marital, intercourse?" What is it, you ask, that makes this night different than any other? $2 dollar Coronas and $4 dollar Jaeger bombs, Merkle's will tell you. There are other nights other than Thursday that are notable as well. They include Monday's $2 Bacardi drinks, and Tuesday's $3 you-call-it special. Also, depending on what night you go, pitchers can go for $6. Oh baby, your liver is just asking for it.
This sports fan's paradise features walls of sports memorabilia and seven high definition televisions that will make sure that you're on top of all the scores from all the leagues. The music in Merkle’s can get incredibly loud at times, so a night of intimate conversation is basically out of the question. Other than a chicken and pear sandwich, it's pretty standard bar food. Try the Greek fries, served with feta cheese. If you are braver than I am, try out this bar on a Friday night, when Merkle's offers occasional Jaeger promotions.
Average cost: $10-$20
