Think warm, crispy tortilla chips and a mountain of zesty guacamole, cheesy enchiladas with beans and rice — and extreme wrestling playing in the background — and you will get a fairly accurate idea of El Pueblito's vibe. While the North Clark area is lined with
taquerias, El Pueblito has an amazing menu ranging from refreshing ceviche tostadas to greasy pork tacos.
The aesthetics aren’t exactly fine dining — neon signs, plastic tablecloths with lighthouse patterns, kitschy paintings of warrior men rescuing scantily clad women — but the food will satisfy your cravings. Every table is served up chips, salsa and refried beans. The aforementioned guacamole is sent from God in large portions for only $6, a great way to start your palate off right.
El Pueblito's menu allows you to order full entrees ranging from $9-$15, or by individual categories like tacos or burritos with your choice in meat (prices ranging from $2-$7.50). The cebiche de camaron ($4.50) is delightful, with fresh shrimp mixed up with lime, cilantro, onions, tomatoes, avocados and served on a tostada. Entree offerings include classic fare like fajitas, enchiladas and flautas (all $10), but the menu gets a lot more adventurous. Try lengua ranchera (beef tongue ranchero style, $11) or pollo en mole poblano (chicken topped with poblano mole, $10) if you want to branch out from the basics. This taqueria offers a diverse array of seafood as well: caldo de levanta muertos (Rouse the Dead Soup, $17) or mojarra frita a la Mexicana (fried silver fish Mexican style, $10) are two options.
El Pueblito also has beer and mixed drinks available. There's not much left to be desired that's not already on this menu. El Pueblito is your spot if you can look past the plastic cutlery into your delicious burrito instead.
