Editorial Review of Clybar

Looking for a bar that has a neighborhood-style feel but still knows how to let loose on the weekends? Clybar attracts a quality mix of regulars and newcomers who want to get away from the bars on Lincoln Avenue or Clark Street, but still long for a fun place to wet their whistles.

Clybar's pub-style decor pairs nicely with its warmly lit wood interior featuring high ceilings and an extra-long bar. Whether you're with your (potential) significant other, a small group or a group big enough to form its own softball team, Clybar's seating has you covered. There are high tables by the front widow, plenty of seating at the bar, tables and a booth across from the bar and a larger space toward the back that can easily accommodate a bigger crew.

While several TVs adorn the walls, it doesn't feel like an overbearing, in-your-face sports bar, and the relaxed atmosphere mirrors the people who frequent Clybar. Bring your buddies to watch a game, bring your girls for Ladies' Night on Wednesdays or just come for no reason at all. Throw your favorite song on the jukebox or make like Tiger Woods on Golden Tee. Tuesdays are great for $1 tacos, $3 bottles of Corona and one mean game of trivia. Bring up to three of your sharpest mates because the winning team gets a $50 tab for the following Tuesday. Or try 35 cent wings and $6 bombs on Fridays. The menu offers a wide array of bar-style food, ranging from six to 10 bucks; and the kitchen's open until 11 p.m. to accommodate a late-night craving for wings or nachos.

Clybar also features a small outdoor seating area and free parking across the street after 7 p.m.

Average cost: <$10
