Want to live like a king? Spend a night at West Loop nightclub Club Royale.
If the VIP-only entrance doesn't make you feel downright regal, the drink menu will. Specialty cocktails like the Crimson Pear (Absolut Pears, Pama pomegranate liqueur and simple syrup garnished with a lemon twist) and Chocolate Covered Blueberi (Stoli Blueberi, Frangelico, Godiva dark chocolate liqueur, and a splash of Chambord) appeal to your sweet tooth, while a strong glass of Energy (Corzo Silver tequila, Midori, pineapple juice served with a generous dose of "G" Energy) keeps you going whether you're dancing or issuing decrees. We recommend the Club Royale (Grey Goose L'Orange shaken with dark creme de cacao, amaretto, and a splash of Bacardi Coco garnished with an orange twist), and no, that's not the royal "we."
Beyond the elegant bar lies Club Royale's luxurious seating area, furnished with leather upholstery, plush draperies and sleek wood paneling in rich tones of cognac, espresso and mahogany. Install yourself in a booth and order something to feast on: tuna tartar with pancetta, capers and tomato; oysters Rockafella with sake creamed spinach and saracha hollandaise; or truffle nachos with fontina fondue, salumi and oregano.
After eating, dance along with a crowd of 30-something patrons and scantily clad waitresses. The DJ spins the best lounge and house, as well as your favorite '80s hits – Tears for Fears' "Everybody Wants to Rule the World," anyone? It's good to be the king.
